I was rather disappointed with Mrs Dawn Austin's response to my recent letter since she appears to have ignored my main point that if a proposal is sensible it matters not from whence it comes.
Moving our discussion forward I was interested to note from my post this week that she and I are members, together with three other Councillors, of the newly created Performance Review Panel I of Caradon District Council. It is proposed that this Panel should consider and investigate broad policy issues, the Council's budget plans, as well as advice to the Cabinet on major matters before decisions are made. I look forward to some constructive debate, and hopefully decisions that are based on their value to the people of Caradon rather than political dogma.
