The National Trust team at Antony are opening the doors to any potential volunteers on Tuesday, March 6.

The charity is aiming to recruit volunteers for a host of different roles, including room guiding, gardening, fund-raising and conservation.

Antony, completed in 1720 with gardens designed by Humphry Repton, is looked after by the National Trust and has been home to the Carew Pole family for more than 600 years.

There will be opportunities to meet the team at the Antony volunteer open day, from 10am to 4pm.

You don’t need to be a National Trust member to attend the event and can drop in any time during the day.

There will be a chance to find out about a host of volunteer opportunities including garden work, admin, room guiding, event help, raffle ticket selling and more.

Tours of the house and garden will be running regularly throughout the day. There will be a chance to chat with existing volunteers.

Volunteer Rachel Cooper said: ‘I’m involved with a brilliant team of people and I learn something new and interesting every day I’m there.

‘I get to meet and talk to people from all walks of life, help them enjoy their visit, and in a setting that is something else.’

A series of volunteer drop-in sessions are also run: April 16 (10am-11am); May 17 (5.30pm-7pm); June 25 (2pm-3pm); and July 8 (10am-11.30am).
