Liskeard Unlocked will run from Friday September 13 - Sunday September 15. Guided walks, talks and dramatic street performances will feature across the event as well as the chance to peek inside buildings that are usually closed to the public.

Among some of the properties inviting people in are the Henry Rice designed home Tregantle, in Barn Street, and St Martin’s Church, where hourly church tower climbs and bellringing will take place.

This year’s Heritage Open Days has a focus on ‘People Power’, and The Wham Bam youth theatre group will be staging a promenade performance all about the Children’s Miners’ strike of 1872.

A competition is already running at the medieval Stuart House on Barras Street, where members of the public are being challenged to identify the locations of date stones found on buildings around Liskeard.

New on the Liskeard Unlocked programme for 2019 is the former Liberal Club Building on Barras Street, and the Liskerrett Centre will be celebrating its 20th anniversary by sharing memories and photos from the Varley Lane Junior School which was formerly on the site, and the story of how the community centre was created.
