Could I through your Letters Page make contact with all Parish Councillors in the Caradon District.

Three weeks ago at our Branch meeting at the Royal British Legion Liskeard, we received from Headquarters Pall Mall, a directive stating that all Memorial Stones in every Parish must be checked to ensure that any name after 1945 of our Armed Services, who may have fallen in conflict, must be entered on these Memorial Stones.

As we all know, that after the second world war which was 1945, there has always been conflict in some part of the world, even up to this point in time where one man and women of our Armed Services have been involved.

I would appreciate very much if the Parish Councillors would do this for the Royal British Legion, Liskeard Branch, I know it is a little bit unorthodox to write an open letter like this, but by doing so this can be dealt with much quicker.

If it is found that names have to be entered on any Memorial Stones, would you please forward their full name in capitals, service number and which part of the world was the conflict, and send these details to the Branch Secretary, Royal British Legion, Barn Street, Liskeard, where it will be dealt with.
