PARKS and toilets looked after by a town council have been closed for the safety of the public.

Liskeard Town Council has locked the public conveniences and placed barricade tape over play equipment in the parks under its management.

Signs explaining that ’playing on equipment poses a serious risk of tranmitting the Covid-19 virus’ have been placed on the gates.

This scene is repeated in towns and villages in South East Cornwall where parish councils have taken on assets such as playareas and toilets.
