Latest Cornwall COVID-19 figures from Public Health England show new ‘clusters’ of cases, and one South East Cornwall area now having cases in double figures.

A ‘cluster’ is defined as three or more cases in an area of 750,000 people.

The latest figures cover the seven days from October 6-12 and the new cluster locations include the area of Tywardreath and Fowey, and the area of Launceston.

However, the previously reported cluster in the area of Altarnun and Stoke Climsland has now disappeared from the COVID map, meaning it now has two or fewer cases.

The cluster area now showing double figures is Lostwithiel and Penwithick, which now has 10 cases and as well as Lostwithiel and Penwithick also includes Bugle, Luxulyan and other hamlets.

The previously reported cluster area of Kingsand, Maryfield and Antony also has an additional case of the virus, meaning there are now seven people with COVID-19 there.

In Par the number of cases has gone down from four to three, while the situation is unchanged in the South East Cornwall cluster area of Saltash, Latchbrook and St Stephens, and the area of Dobwalls, Addington and Menheniot, each of which still have three cases.
