PLYMOUTH Argyle Community Trust will deliver their ‘Argyle Fans in Training’ project thanks to a Heart Research UK and Subway ‘Healthy Heart Grant’.

The funding is aimed at engaging overweight and obese men in a six-a-side football league.

Teams will earn bonus goals for weight loss, capped at 2lbs per week, to encourage healthy and sustainable weight loss. Participants will go through a health screening for BMI, body fat, blood pressure and resting heart rate.

The grant is made up of donations made in West Country Subway stores, including in Liskeard.
