SALTASH China Fleet Country Club will open up once again as a vaccination centre next week, as efforts to get all adults to have had their booster jabs continue in earnest.

The China Fleet Club first became a vaccination clinic at the start of 2021, and trained NHS staff and volunteers administered just under 89,000 first and second doses of Coronavirus vaccines over the space of just a few months.

The China Fleet Vaccination Centre will see NHS staff and volunteers leading the roll-out for South East Cornwall.

Marketing Manager Debbie Lyons said: "We’re so proud to be able to offer our space again so that more of our community are able to get their COVID vaccines and boosters as quickly as possible.

“One of our top priorities is the health and wellbeing of our community, so for us it was an easy decision to make.”

More than 40% of adults in the UK have already had a booster vaccination. During his address to the nation at the weekend, prime minister Boris Johnson said the aim was to have one million people each day vaccinated. In Cornwall, this means almost doubling the number of doses given to 9,000 each day.

The China Fleet Club clinic will be open from Wednesday December 22.

Anyone wanting to find out more information on the Vaccination Program should contact their GP or NHS.
