To raise awareness of the British Heart Foundation’s ’Restart a Heart Day’ South Western Ambulance Service has revealed how one of its community responders saved the life of a Gunnislake woman.
Mike Kinger, her local butcher, was called to Marilyn Smith’s home to provide her with a life-saving defibrillator shock that got her heart beating before the ambulance service arrived.
Mike, who has been a community responder for 12 years, was a shortlisted finalist at the ’Who Care Wins Awards ceremony last week which was attended by the Prime Minister Theresa May.’
