STUDENT Lucy Connell waved goodbye to her locks and raised more than £420 for the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Lucy, a Level 3 Early Years student at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, said: ‘When I was growing up I was never allowed to have my hair cut short. Now I’m older I wanted to do it for a good cause.

‘I have been around campus the last few weeks getting sponsorship and the donations have been fantastic.

‘I love the charity, I have read so much about it. Unfortunately cancer is so common now, so many children get affected and lose their hair, I wanted to try and help in a little way.’
