The southerly light to moderate wind meant a starting line was laid just off Looe Beach by race officer of the day, Commodore Dominic Lozynski.

Eager beavers in the Laser Class were called back to restart for a line infringement, then a cat and mouse battle developed over the whole of the race, with Peter Greenwood having the edge over arch-rival Tom Shaw and winning by only a boat's length.

Class stalwart, Rob Dewe, came home in third place, showing his usual tenacity.

In the Redwing Class, Peter Kinver, with Jack Pope on the wire, revelled in the conditions and romped home in fine style, leaving their fellow competitors way behind as they increased their lead throughout the race. With only three races to go, things are hotting up for overall points positions at the end of the season.
