More than 150 tents, assorted camping chairs and numerous sleeping bags and mats have been rescued by Cornwall’s firefighters from the Glastonbury festival – and will be sold in aid of charity on July 23.
The camping equipment left behind after the music event was collected from the Glastonbury site in partnership with Santander and Cornwall Fire and Rescue firefighters from Tolvaddon and Hayle earlier this month, with the help and support from sponsors of Dash Group van rental, Low Cost Storage and Carters Packaging.
On July 23 from 10am to 2pm at Hayle Rugby Club, the discarded equipment will go on sale at bargain prices with proceeds in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity.
Last year, the crew raised more than £6,000 from a similar sale and hope to raise just as much this year.
