Ghostly stories inspired by local folklore will be brought to life in the Tamar Valley.
Film company The Paper Cinema use illustration, puppetry and live music to create an eerily atmospheric show.
During a magical evening of performance, pen and ink drawings are turned into a unique live film through the skills of two puppeteers and use of a projector. The artists are joined by musicians on stage.
The Paper Cinema are returning to Cornwall having first performed in Callington in 2016.
On their mission to discover new ghost stories to tell, the artists worked with students at the town’s primary and secondary schools for two days, and they say that ghosts, ghouls, poltergeists and witches were brilliantly conjured from the page by the youngsters - not to mention zombie armies and armed skeletons.
Taking inspiration from the children’s work, plus a specially commissioned ghost story by crime writer Linda Rhodes about the tragic Barking boiler explosion of 1899, The Paper Cinema has created a set of bewitching illustrations to tell the stories they have uncovered.
The Paper Cinema will be appearing at Calstock Arts tomorrow (Sunday January 27)(4pm)
