THREE musical friends will be coming together in harmony with a concert for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Young singer Charlie Harris, from Menheniot, has invited her friends Luke Bunkum and Charlie Whitehair to join her in the event on February 3 in Menheniot.
The Teenage Cancer Trust was a cause chosen by Charlie in memory of her auntie, as she explained: ’On the 31 January 2008, my Auntie, Sally Glover, passed away after a very short battle with cancer.
‘Having lost their father earlier in 2007, my cousins David and Nathan, who were 13 and 15 years old at the time, had to cope with losing both parents in very short succession.
‘I wanted to organise something to mark the 10 year anniversary and to show my cousins how proud we are of them for getting on with their lives. They are two fantastic young men and their mum, dad and late grandparents, Bet and Dave Harris, would be extremely proud.’
The gig will also form one of the ten events lined up to mark the Caradon Hockey Club’s tenth anniversary. Charlie, 16, has been playing with the club for six years.
The live gig for Teenage Cancer Trust will take place at St Lalluwy’s Church from 7pm. Event management company JHAV have agreed to provide free lighting, sound and video for the concert and there will be a fully licensed bar.
Charlie and her family are delighted with the total raised already which currently stands at more than £1,000.
