A local football club has stepped in to help with a shortage of parking in their village.

Last week, the Cornish Times reported on the problems at the Dobwalls Memorial Hall car park.

With parking at a premium during school drop-off and pick-up times, hall users were sometimes finding it tricky to get a space – and trustees had coned off an area to protect these bookings.

Now Dobwalls Football Club has offered the use of its car park for use by parents in the mornings and afternoons.

A letter was sent home from Dobwalls Primary School in children’s bags on Monday.

It reads: ‘The committee of Dobwalls Football Club have offered us their car park with immediate effect.

‘The car park will be opened each morning ready for school starting and will be locked again at 4.30pm.’

A footpath runs between the Football Club car park and the school.
