The chance to do a spot of bat detecting is being offered this Friday (September 14) as dusk falls.

The Bat Walk and Talk is aimed at families and will take place at Siblyback Lake from 8pm.

The event promises to be an exciting one for bat lovers, says the South West Lakes Trust, and follows a bat box building day in April, when nearly 40 new boxes were constructed and installed around the lake.

The Trust is now keen to see just how many of the habitats are being occupied by the nocturnal animals.

Samantha Smith, who is a bat ecologist with the Cornwall Bat Group, will be on site to share her knowledge during the event.

Booking is essential for the Bat Walk and Talk; for more information, call 01566 77193 or visit www.swlakestrust.org.uk
