Fountain Lions continue their winning ways in Section A with an 11-7 win over Dobsons. Police A move up to second place after winning 10-8 against Legion B, while Con Club and Highwayman A and C all share joint third position.

Fountain Lions were behind after two rounds but then won nine of the last 12 games to win easily by 11-7. Mark Hancock and Ian Runnalls and Rob and Ivan Olver won four each for the Lions. Eric Andrew and Ron Hutchings won three for Dobsons.

Police A won 10-8 at home to Legion B. Police were 9-6 up and gained the win when top scorers Bill McLoughlin and Phil Toms won the last game and five games in total. John Waters and Andy Wallace won three for Police. Les Dennis and Bob Fricker and Alan Barber and George Crocker all won three for Legion B.

Con Club drew with Wheal Tor. Dave Gogger took seven and Jim Wheelers won four for Con Club, while Stan Skews and Dave Clatworthy also won four for Wheal Tor.

Last year's section B winners Highway C won the battle against last year's section A winners Garrison by 10-8. Highway C went into a 7-2 lead but Garrison came back strongly winning six of the last nine games but to no avail. Nigel Williams and Francis Julian, Bernie Hardy and Dave Exall all won four for Highway C. Mike and Chris Black-Borow top-scored for Garrison with four.

Market recorded their first win away to St Neot A 11-7. Institute were 6-3 up but Market then won eight of the last nine games to take the points. Rob Trevarthen and Graham Pengelly won five, while both other pairs won three for Market. Dave Cocks and Bill Miners, Bob Strang and Mark Pearse all won three for the Institute.

Highway A won 10-8 away to London. Highway were 9-6 up, with Robert Pearson and Jennie Anthony taking four including the tenth game to give Highway A the points. Simon Putt and Ian Wilton also won four for Highway. Chris Penter and Andrew Bunt top scored for London with five. William Taylor and Brian Martyn took the brush.

In Section B three teams are contesting the lead. Fountain, White Hart A and White Horse all have four points. Three teams are in joint second place with three points.

Fountain stormed into a 7-2 lead over Cheesewring and then ran out 11-7 winners. Chris Hocking and Fred Markham and M Pengelly and Lee Prout all won five for Fountain. Kevin Gregory and Richard Paul, Steve Windmill and Steve Coombs all won three for Cheesewring.

White Horse won 12-6 away to Barley A. Barley were 4-2 up before White Horse went into top gear, winning 10 of the next 12 games to take the points. George Keast and Bernie Hoskins and Nobby Clark and Hector Kent all won five for White Horse. Pete Stewart and Duane Good won three for Barley A.

Legion C recorded their first draw when they visited Market B. Market went into a 7-2 lead but Legion C can back strongly, winning seven of the last nine games. N White and John Vine won four for Market, while all pairs won three for Legion C.

Lord Eliot shared the points with White Hart B. John Bartlett and Ian Gill won four for the Eliot. All pairs won three for White Hart B.

Legion A recorded their first points with a 10-8 win over Barley B. Barley went into a 5-1 lead but Legion then won nine of the last 12 games to take all the points. Colin Penwarden and Derek Charge and Queenie Charge and Lee Penwarden all won four for Legion A. Jon Anderson and Neil Cloake won three for Barley.
