VISITORS to Looe are set for three days of live music when the Looe Weekender returns to the town from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20.

Organised by local pubs, clubs and bars, the Looe Weekender is an action-packed music event which take place at multiple venues and pop-up stages across the town, showcasing the best local and regional talent.

Visitors can expect to see an eclectic line up of bands, duos and soloists, with around 100 performances in total at East Looe, West Looe, and Hannafore, with some venues having bonus gigs on Thursday, September 17 too.

The venues taking part in the event include The Globe Inn, Copperfish, The Rose Garden, The Golden Guinea, JJ’s Bar, The Ship Inn, Pissters, Looe Angling Club, Sails Bar & Eatery, The Sail Loft, Ye Olde Gorg & Ale House, The Fisherman’s Arms, The Buller’s Arms, Botel, The Old Boathouse, The Admiral Boscarn, The Portbyhan Hotel, Looe Social Club, West Looe Quay Stage and Hannafore Beack Kiosk.

The Looe Weekender, which is now in its fifth year, was set up by locals after the collapse of the Looe Music Festival. An ethos of the event is to keep it cost free, with no participating venue charging for entry.

No external food trucks or outside catering is brought in, ensuring that restaurants, cafés and other local eateries throughout the town benefit from the weekend’s event.

With the help of Go Cornwall Bus, the event organisers have been able to negotiate late bus services for all three days.

Buses at 10.30pm and 11.25pm will leave from outside of Looe Bridge Surgery in East Looe, with stops at Looe Bay (alight for the Looe Caravan and Motorhome Club site) and Tregoad Holiday Park.

Meanwhile, another bus will leave West Looe Quay at 11pm, with stops at the junction with Tencreek Holiday Park, West Wayland Touring Park, Trelawne Holiday Park, where you can also alight for Camping Caradon.
