Enjoy an autumnal stargazing experience with the Caradon Observatory and South West Lakes Trust on Saturday, October 12.

Siblyback Lake on Bodmin Moor was designated by the International Dark-Sky Association as an International Dark Sky Landscape. The Dark Skies event, between 6 and 8pm, offers a fantastic opportunity to see and learn more about the magnificent Bodmin Moor Dark Skies.

Following the success of the previous stargazing event in August, this time, the experts from Caradon Observatory will be looking into the death of stars. Clear skies permitting, there will be an opportunity to stargaze using the ‘big Dob’ and two refractors on EQ (computer controlled) mounts. The Dob is a Dobsonian 12” diameter reflector telescope which is computer controlled to identify and track the object you wish to view. The refractors are similar to the telescope that Nelson would have used.

Tickets cost £2 to cover parking, spaces are limited so booking is essential. Call 01566 771930 or visit www.swlakestrust.org.uk.
