STUDENTS at Liskeard School and Community College have taken part in a mock General Election.

The event was part of the school’s drive to get more young people interested in politics and democracy.

Three of the four General Election candidates for South East Cornwall answered questions during hustings held in the run-up to the mock election.

Phil Hutty, of the Liberal Democrats, Labour’s Gareth Derrick and Martin Corney, of the Green Party, visited the school to talk to pupils .
