POLICE were called to Truro College this morning [Friday, October 9] following reports of a female student behaving “aggressively” towards a staff member.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed officers were contacted at 10.10am following a report of a “disturbance”.

“It was reported that the student was refusing to leave and aggressive towards a staff member,” said a force spokesperson. “Officers attended and are currently with the 17-year-old female.”

A Truro and Penwith College spokesperson confirmed officers attended the Truro campus this morning, adding: “Our safeguarding team responded immediately. Established safeguarding and incident-response procedures were followed, and support is being provided to those directly affected.

“The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our highest priority. As this incident concerns an individual student, it would not be appropriate for the college to comment further.”
