College leaders are teaming up with Plymouth Argyle to hold a trial day for potential recruits on their football education programme at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland.
Taking place on Tuesday, April 10 from 10am to 3pm, the under-16 trials will be for the programme that covers all aspects of the professional game from nutrition and fitness to injury analysis and coaching.
The students also receive training sessions from a Plymouth Argyle coach and are able to undertake work experience at Argyle’s Home Park stadium.
Those who complete the course could progress into a number of areas in sport and fitness, including coaching, nutrition, injury prevention, teaching or further study.
Team lead for sport and outdoor adventure at Duchy College, Darren Evans, said the course offers students an excellent opportunity to develop their footballing ability whilst studying for a vocational qualification.
He said: ‘The partnership with Plymouth Argyle FC gives the students a chance to work with and get the feel of a professional football club.’
