The Donkey Man and Bramble are calling it a day.

Yes, the time has come, I have had to make a very difficult decision.

I will no longer be collecting in Looe with my donkey for the Children's Hospice South West. My age has caught up with me.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to one and all, here and abroad, for the support and generosity you have shown me over the years.

A personal thank you goes to the Children's Hospice South West for allowing my late wife and I to collect on its behalf. Also thanks to Celia, Kath and my sister Vera for all the time they have given supporting us/me at Looe.

My thanks also to Caradon Council for all it has done, to Looe police for allowing us to park in their car park, to the Looe in Bloom organisation for getting us involved, to Tony Brown and staff for planting the flower boxes and, last but not least, to the ladies at Looe Guildhall for the cups of tea.

Once again my sincere thanks to you all.
