A FREE session on how to identify the many species of ferns to be found on woodland walks locally will be hosted online by the Tamar Valley AONB next Tuesday (October 20).

The hour-long virtual workshop will be led by Rachel Jones from Plantlife

Rachel says: “Autumn is most definitely upon us and it is a wonderful time of year to explore the Tamar Valley’s woodlands.

"Soon we will be saying farewell to some of our woodlands’ more delicate ferns whose fronds will die back for the winter. Before that happens, join me for an hour to look at these beautiful and diverse plants and learn skills that will help you to identify them.”

The free session takes place on Tuesday 20th October at 1pm. Anyone who signs up early will receive a free fern ID guide to use during the online workshop.
