The Government and Cornwall Council have announced that direct flights between Newquay Airport and Gatwick have been secured for a further four years, backed by funding from both organisations.
The service, operated by Flybe, will continue to see daily flights between the two airports, with three return flights on weekdays and two per day at weekends.
Last year 160,000 passengers travelled using the route.
Gatwick flights account for 40 per cent of passengers using Newquay Airport.
