Playing a rearranged match against the Rowett B, the Noughts won 6-3 and with it secured the title with a game to go. The champions elect were soon 3-0 up with wins from Grant Guilder, Jon Perry and Jerry Jago.

The Rowett then pulled two back with wins from Dennis Shaw and Darren Thomas. Cess Pethick then put the Noughts 4-2 up winning the last singles. Two of the three doubles then went the Noughts way for a 6-3 scoreline in their favour. The following night the Noughts travelled to the Blue Peter needing only three points to clinch the league and they got all nine to finish the season unbeaten in the league. Their only hiccup in the KO Cup Final.

Pelynt B secured second spot with a 9-0 win over Wooden Spoonists Ship B. The winners for Pelynt were Baz Phillips, Alan Phillips, Paul Tamblyn, Martin Dunn, Nigel Davis and Stuart Gray.

Rowett B finished third with a good 8-1 win over the Millhouse. Rowett A had a 7-2 win over the Caradon to leave them in fourth spot whilst Pelynt A finished fifth with a 5-4 win over the Ship A. With the Legion and the Pilchards on the same points, the winners of their match would finish in sixth and it was the Pilchards who came out on top, winning the last game to be 5-4 victors.

Most wins this season was won by Jerry Jago who won all 21 games he played and his league winning streak is now 33 games. Second was Andy Grant, who only lost one. Four players were joint third.

Andy Grant had the most tons with 91, Jerry Jago second with 84 whilst team-mate Cess Pethick was joint third with Pelynt A's Dean Haynes on 82. Of the 20 ton plus finished Dave Nutty's 151 was the best and of the 17 maximums, Dennis Shaw and Andy Grant had three each. Pelynt A's Joan Geach had most ladies' tons with seven wins.

The league champions vs best of the rest takes place at the Noughts on 14th April. The B of R team (no more than two players from any one team) is Paul Tamblyn and Martin Dunn (Pelynt B), D Shaw and D Thomas (Rowett B), Dean Haynes (Pelynt A), Lee Bryant (Rowett A), Reserve George Wildman (Ship A).

The singles, doubles and trebles take place tonight (7th April). Singles at the Millhouse, doubles at Pelynt, trebles at the Rowett. Roll call 7.50 pm, 8 pm start. Sorry, no late entries.
