Werrington v Luckett

Luckett's bowlers did well to keep Werrington to 148-7 in their 48 overs, John Schutkacker from eight overs, taking 1-15, Chris Bowden 1-17 from 11 overs, Roy Williams 3-41 from 16 overs, Matt Perry with 13 coming off the last over took 1-49 from eight. Andrew Berry bowled five tight overs and conceding only seven runs in Werrington's score of 148-7. J Moore scored 30, A Foulds 18, Trevor Dingle 16, S Johns 11 and P Strawbridge no 23.

In reply, Luckett's batsmen facing a small total were to make a mess of it and to lose by four runs. Adrian Berry, skipper for the day, was the only real batsman to get on top of the bowling as he score 61 no of Luckett's 144-9.

John Schutkacker scored a useful 26, Adam Skeet, with overs running out, scored a quick 12, Chris Bowden 12 and John Hutchings on 12 not out, who had to return in the middle of Luckett's innings returned with a runner to try and help Berry knock off the runs for victory, the pair just failing by four runs. Luckett will have to play a lot better if they are to pull away from the bottom half of the table. After scoring over 500 runs in the last two innings, this was a game they should have won but then that's cricket.
