FIVE people who have completed a new back-to-work course have been presented with awards.

Mayor of Liskeard Christina Whitty met the five who have just completed the Motiv8 South West programme Activate your Future, funded by Careers South West and the European Social Fund.

The course is designed to help prepare people for the work environment, sharing employability and life skills.

Motiv-8sw course leaders, many of whom have faced their own personal challenges, work with individuals and groups aiming to help them identify and overcome the barriers that hold them back, blending practical, theoretical and interactive exercises with training and support.

Kieron Yeoman, managing director of Motiv-8sw, said: ‘We challenge our customers to think and act differently and be more confident as we will always identify the good in every single person.

‘We treat all our clients as individuals – so helping them to make their aspirations in life a reality.’

The Mayor said she was pleased to see how the individuals displayed their new sense of confidence and self-esteem: ‘Thank you Motiv-8sw for inviting me and letting me what great projects are running in the area.’

Motiv-8sw is running more courses in Saltash, St Austell, Bodmin and Redruth starting on Monday (September 4).
