On a heavy pitch due it was always going to be difficult to play flowing football but it was Callington who settled the better, with Barford and Daly attacking down the flanks causing problems. The first chance fell to Martin whose shot was well saved by the Fowey 'keeper. Then Gregory had a fierce shot which hit the bar, and minutes later drove just wide from 14 yards. It was only going to be a matter of time before Callington scored. The first came from a Hicks free-kick with Taylor turning his marker and finding the bottom corner. Five minutes later, Daly seemed to be chasing a lost cause, but got to the ball first, and his right footed shot form an acute angle found the bottom corner.

The second half started in the same fashion for Callington. Nicholls replaced Brooks in midfield and with his first touch turned in the six yard box to score. Callington were now in overdrive passing the ball with ease. At this stage manager Paul Blatchford welcomed back Chris Truscott and Gordon Moxon from injury and it wasn't long before Truscott made his mark. A long ball from Hicks split the Fowey defence and found Truscott 14 yards out whose fierce drive sailed into the top corner.

Callington were now enjoying themselves with Daly and Barford running at defenders at will. The fifth goal was the best of the game. Callington built from the back, putting together several passes the final ball coming from Barford wide left with Gregory finishing six yards out. Minutes later it was Barford's turn for the second week running he rounded three players, cut inside and found the back of the net. Callington were in no mood to take their foot off the pedal and Gregory scored his second. With 10 minutes remaining Gregory got a well deserved hat-trick. Daly's cross found Gregory to tap in, then a lapse in the Callington defences in the last minutes of the game allowed Fowey to score with their only shot on target all game. Hicks, Reid, Bartlet and Martin all having good games.
