A CORNISH support centre is reaching out to self-isolating cancer patients with a package of virtual support.

The Cove Macmillan Support Centre, based at Treliske Hospital in Truro, is temporarily closed to visitors due to the pandemic. However, the team are working remotely and using telephone appointments to continue many of their services.

Kathryn Radcliffe Macmillan Centre manager said ’Despite the incredibly difficult and uncertain situation every one of us has found ourselves in, we knew how important it was to keep going and to be there for the people who depend on our support, now more than ever. Though the Cove’s doors are temporarily closed, we are very much still here for people affected by cancer in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.’

The Cove continues to offer counselling, psychological support, benefits advice and physiotherapy appointments by telephone. You can also email the team to ask questions if you need more information about your cancer or treatment, as well as phone to speak to a healthcare professional for advice, support, or just to talk through any concerns.

The Cove Macmillan Support Centre was funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and is run by the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust. It supports anyone affected by cancer living in Cornwall

Anyone affected by cancer in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly can contact the Cove Macmillan Support Centre team on 01872 256363 or email [email protected] 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
