Reading your letter of the week recently re metrication I had to reply. to Mr R Connor If he visited America he would see that 18 states have starting converting back to Imperial. That an oil company, Shell, lost so many customers when it changed its pumps to litres that it too changed back.
It doesn't really matter what we buy our petrol in, gallons or litres. It isn't inevitable or a lost cause.
