A new survey has found that Cornwall Council had the second highest number of calls from people complaining about their neighbours’ garden fences and hedges in the country, writes Richard Whitehouse, local democracy reporter.

A Freedom of Information request was submitted to councils all over the country and found that Cornwall Council received 941 calls from people complaining about hedges, fences and sheds between 2012 and 2018.

The council was second only to Warwickshire County Council which had recorded 1,256 complaints over the same period.

The FoI request received responses from 194 councils across the country.
