LISKEARD started their pre-season training on Tuesday with South Western League manager Chris Burchell welcoming three new signings including local midfielder and county player Darren Gilbert from nearby Saltash.

John Hillson will continue as assistant manager having turned down overtures to assist at Porthleven.

Other newcomers - both from Millbrook - are defender Darren Wills and sweeper Lee Underhill.

Both the first and second teams are training together and new faces are welcome to attend these sessions.

Martin Hodge and S teve Collins who guided the Reserves to the East Cornwall Premier League championship last season will continue in charge.

"Everything in shaping up well", said the Blues SWL boss. Dave Leonard has re-signed for us this season but is also involved with Tiverton and will not be able to put as much time into training.
