Following the heady heights and vintage performance the previous week, this turned out to be a comedy of errors as far as Tideford were concerned. Like a good wine, they did not travel well, and even worse never settled.

All the early pressure came from the lively St Stephens attack and it was no surprise when they took the lead with a goal from Martin Richards.

Just when Tideford momentarily looked as though they could be getting back into the game following a good passing move between Paul Dickson, Wayne Kirby and Carlos Norville, Tideford conceded another when Martin Richards scored his second and started a series of events that will haunt the Tideford 'keeper for the rest of the season.

Loose marking resulted in Ross Howard making it 3-0 just before the interval.

The second half then continued much in the way with a fourth goal from Steve Masters, again not picked up and then Martin Richards completed his hat trick in adding St Stephens fifth.

The introduction of three substitutes by Tideford during the last half of the game did little to stem the flow and further goals by Craig Dyer, Del Lithgow and Luke Edgely completed a very unhappy afternoon for the visitors.

Despite being without three of their regular players for the game, Tideford never ever looked like achieving anything and were outplayed in every department. Manager Chris 'Zico' Phillips was noticed last week leaving the ground with a hint of a smile, but this week it was replaced with a formidable scowl. Watch out next week lads!!!
