Stoke Climsland enjoyed a victory against Pensilva on Saturday to make it two wins each in their games this season.
The first half was tight and largely uneventful with the best chance falling to Pensilva but the half time score remained 0-0. The referee however, was in the thick of the action; first pulling up with an injury and later being hit by the ball in a very unfortunate area.
Both goals came in the second half: the first from the penalty spot after Chris Bennett was hauled down by Paul Firth just as he was about to score. Despite much effort, Pensilva rarely threatened an equaliser and Stoke made the game safe late on with another goal. One piece of good news for Pensilva was the return of Tony Rogers, who came on as a second half sub after a few weeks absence through injury.
