Pensilva suffered a dis-appointing defeat at Menheniot after a very poor display on Tuesday.
Menheniot started better and had much of the possesion without creating any chances until they were awarded a soft goal thanks to an individual error by Paul Firth. As a high ball came in, Firth misjudged his header and the ball looped back towards the penalty area where Chris Williams' attempt to clear while under severe pressure from a forward resluted in him lobbing the ball over his own keeper. Menheniot then pressed for the second but it didn't come and Pensilva began to come back into the game as half time approached.
The second half began with Pensilva on the attack looking for an equaliser. Menheniot were pinned back for almost the entire half although on one occasion they caused keeper Simon Terrell to panic when a lob sailed over his head. As Terrell frantically scrambled back the ball went over and he performed his well known monkey trick of swinging on the cross bar only to fall into the net and get stuck, where he was left floundering like the prize catch of the day. Pensilva continued to pour forward without managing to score against a solid defence and a breakaway goal in the last couple of minutes secured the points for Menheniot.
