Having already dropped three points away to Biscovey, Saints were in no mood to relinquish any more without a hard fight, although it took them until the second half to react and exact retribution for their previous loss.

On a pitch ravaged by the recent wet and dry spells of weather, the ball bounced any which way and took some getting used to. After initial skirmishes the first half settled into a period of expectation with no end result, simple passes going astray and tackles being missed, not a pretty sight from the touchline.

Saints eventually went ahead, when a through ball found Collins on the left and his first time shot found the bottom left hand corner. Despite their superiority, Saints failed to increase their lead and from a rare excursion into the home side's half, Biscovey drew level when they were awarded a penalty, gratefully tucked away by Burt.

It was not until two minutes from the break that St Cleer again got their noses in front when Hocking met a corner and his bullet header was not going to be stopped by anyone.

Coming out with more purpose in the second half Saints gradually pressed the visitors back further and further, and added a third when a free kick saw the visitors defence come out enmass and be replaced by six Saints players all of whom had beaten the offside trap, out of which Hocking got to the ball first before the on-coming 'keeper to push the ball home.

Constant St Cleer pressure resulted in Wall getting his first goal, heading home a cross from the right. Saints then encamped in last third of the pitch was Biscovey constantly having 10 men behind the ball. St Cleer's next goal came from the spot when a shot from Collins was handled and Hocking stepped up to convert the penalty to gain his first ever hat-trick.

Collins rounded off the scoring late on, turning in a low ball into the box from Gubbin to score his second and Saints' sixth; the final score giving the home side another three points plus increasing their goal difference in a league which gets tighter by the week.
