Cornwall’s biggest music festival has submitted plans to remain at its current home for the next five years.
Boardmasters, which takes place in August on a site overlooking Watergate Bay, has submitted a fresh planning application to Cornwall Council. It has asked for permission for the temporary use of the site at Trebelsue Farm for the five-day festival for the next five years to 2024. The application comes after the festival’s previous planning permission lapsed. It covers the use of the festival arena site as well as campsites for festival-goers.
Last year (which was cancelled due to extreme weather) was set to have a capacity of 53,000 with space for 44,000 campers. There are no plans to increase the capacity of the site – which is set by the festival’s event licence.
This year’s festival is due to take place between August 5 and 9.
