Blues manager Leigh Cooper got his new-look side off to a fine start with victory over his former club at Weston Mill.
'This was the first time the new squad had played together and there were encouraging signs but there is still a lot of work to do,' he said.
'It is always nice to get a result under your belts – although the final scoreline did not reflect our superiority on the day.'
The first goal arrived on the half-hour, when a corner from Danny Brook left Addie Walton claiming that he had provided the final touch at the near post.
Several chances came and went as the Blues totally dominated the game, with the nearest coming from Bradley Richardson's ten-yard drive that cannoned back into play off the home crossbar.
Brook – who was the outstanding player on the pitch, closely followed by the very talented Mike Burke – sent in another corner, and Mark Sotheran looped his header over goalkeeper Paul Pethick to make the result safe.
Cooper has added further talent to his squad with the signing of Tavistock Town midfielder Neil Kinsman, who was one of the Tavvy successes against Coca-Cola Championship outfit Crystal Palace last Monday.
'Neil is a great signing for Liskeard, as he has an abundance of talent,' explained Cooper.
