A BEACH cafe which was inexplicably left off the evacuation list ahead of today’s WWII bomb detonation in Falmouth, despite all it’s neighbours being told to clear out, has taken the decision to close - just in case.

They have said pasties will go unbaked — unhappy words for any Cornish-person to hear — but the team decided it was better to be safe than sorry.

“Happy evacuation day everyone,” said the Castle Beach Cafe team, as they announced on social media that they felt forced to close for the day due to a lack of clarity on where people were ‘allowed’ to go.

A spokesperson for Castle Beach Cafe wrote: “We are closed today because I don’t know what the heck is going on.

“The evacuation zone (unexploded WWII bomb) has changed, they got our postcode incorrect (we’re actually TR11 4NZ) - everyone else in our postcode is included on the list except us, so I think that means they have got our address incorrect but we are supposed to be included?!

“I don’t want to go in and bake pasties and get the team to come in as usual, only to be told that we have to leave. Would be a real waste. Better to be safe and such.”
