Mr Field obviously takes the view that the facts are limited to man's apparent wisdom in evolution without reference to a Creator God. Does this not sum up the whole of the attitude which is so prevalent as we enter this new millennium, namely that man is all sufficient and all knowledgeable in his own right and yet we probably see more evidence of man's inhumanity to man at this time than at any time in history.

Is it not somewhat ironic that at a time when man claims in his arrogance to know so much about how the world evolved, we are doing so much to destroy and interfere with the environment of that same world.

Mr Field states that the Bible invites ridicule if it is interpreted as truth. My dictionary states one meaning of ridicule to be mockery. Jesus in the Gospel of Mark (Ch10v34) prophesied that he would be mocked, spat upon, flogged and killed. However, he also prophesied that three days later he would rise. Jesus did rise three days later to give eternal life to all who reject sin and believe.

When I was a 30 year old man who had lost every temporary thing of the world which I had put my trust in, did I find comfort in Archaeopteryx, neither wholly bird or wholly reptile but possessing the oldest fossil feathers, according to Mr Field? No I did not; I put my trust in Jesus Christ. But for the forgiveness, compassion and grace of God, I could have become another suicide statistic in the graveyard of people that our cleverly evolved world has failed.
