A YOUNG tractor driver has died following an incident in a country lane in Cornwall.

The man, in his 20s, was driving a tractor towing a trailer when the incident happened on an unclassified road close to the village of St Ewe, near St Austell.

Emergency services were called late on Friday night (September 11).

The local man was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed until around 3.50pm on Saturday while a police examination of the scene was carried out.
