A WOMAN has been taking to hospital following a collision between a car and a van in south east Cornwall earlier today (Tuesday, August 11).

The incident, which took place just before 8am on the A387 at Carracawn Cross, Hessenford, near Looe, has left the woman with ‘potentially serious injuries’.

As a result of the two-vehicle crash, the A387 remains shut in both directions from the junction with the A374.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Police were called just before 8am today, August 11, following a collision between a van and a car on the A387 at Carracawn Cross, Hessenford, Torpoint.

“The ambulance service is also on scene. One woman has sustained potentially serious injuries and has been taken to Derriford Hospital.

“Several people have been checked over by ambulance crews. The A387 is closed in both directions from the junction with the A374.”
