ON TUESDAY, November 16, PSA (prostate-specific antigen) testing will take place at Launceston Rugby Club.
This is to check men for possible prostate cancer, and all it entails is a small blood sample and results usually within the week.
The testing will take place from 6.30 to 10pm in the Lanson Suite at the club but booking must be done online via mypsatests.org.uk. Currently over 200 have booked in.
Last month, over 500 were tested at Wadebridge Rugby Club with over 25 men testing red so were suggested to contact their GP for further checks. Prostate cancer is very common in men and can be cured quite easily if caught in the early stages. If left too long, can lead to cancer spreading throughout the body.
Come and be tested, the bar will be open for a drink afterwards and as training is taking place, meet the players as well.
This testing is being run by a charity so a minimum donation of £20 is requested.
