A MAN died in a road collision in the early hours of today.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the tragedy to come forward.

The A390 at Penpillick, Par, was closed for around eight hours while the serious collisions investigation team worked.

Ten minutes before 1am, the collision occurred between a male pedestrian and a vehicle travelling towards St Blazey.

The walker was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured. 

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a male walking from the St Blazey direction at about 12.45am.  Any witnesses are urged to contact the police on 101 quoting log number 47 20/03/2016
