Both Looe Lifeboats sped to the rescue of three local girls and a dog, cut off by the tide at Keveral beach, west of Seaton.
The D Class lifeboat went in and picked the party up. They were transferred to the Atlantic to be taken back to Looe. All the girls, Helen Culca, Mary Kirwan and Genny Noble, were local. They were unhurt but wet and feeling cold.
The Atlantic Class Lifeboat Alan and Margaret, with helm Ben Crabb and crew Dale Staff and Rob Deakin, and the D Class Ollie Naismith under helm Dan Margetts with crew Guy Cooper and Aaron Rix, launched on Thursday, May 5 at 6pm.
