The death of two men whose bodies were found in St Austell after Christmas remains unexplained following inconclusive postmortems, police have said.
The bodies of the two men were found dead by police officers at a home on Tregonissey Road just after 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 28.
One man is a 31-year-old from St Austell, the second is a 21-year-old man formerly of Plymouth. Formal identification has taken place on the 31-year-old, and will soon take place for the 21-year-old; next of kin for both men have been informed.
Initial postmortems for either men have been inconclusive, therefore police will now progress with in-depth toxicology which usually takes between two and four weeks for the results to be confirmed.
At this time, the deaths of both men remain unexplained, but Devon and Cornwall Police say they are not looking for any third party in relation to this incident.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary and was later released on police bail until Thursday, January 5 pending further enquiries. He is not being investigated in relation to the deaths of either men.
