Many people phoned 999 in the minutes before 8pm on New Year’s Eve.
Crews found the property was well alight and were unable to get into it because of the heat and the collapsed roof.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, four hose reel jets and three main jets to tackle the fire but by shortly before midnight, the property had been completely destroyed.
