Landslides, fallen trees and flooding in many parts of Cornwall have caused widespread disruption and difficulties for motorists today.
In Bodmin, residents of Castle Road woke to find that a large section of wall had come away after the torrential rain last night and fallen into the road. The road has been cordoned off by police.
Meanwhile, the Bodmin Town Leat rose rapidly after a trash screen in Flaxmoor Terrace had become blocked by debris, and there has been deep and fast flowing floodwater in this part of the town.
Strong winds and heavy rain have led to road closures between Dobwalls and Minions, and between St Ive and Callington on the A390.
Firefighters assisted at a property in Park View, Liskeard, this morning, after reports of water entering a property near to an electrical supply.
A flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Lynher at Notter Bridge, where already high river levels are forecast to coincide with high tide at 9pm.
Flood alerts are also in place for the River Tamar and the River Fowey.
