CORNWALL Solo Grass Track Club members have been continuing preparations during the week ahead of one of the club's biggest race meetings in recent years – the ACU British Championships at a new venue near Mitchell on Sunday (July 1).

The event features two classes of solo racing (up-to-250cc and 251-350cc), and both left-hand sidecar classes (500cc and 1,000cc).

A field of 24 riders will line up in each solo class and 12 pairings in both sidecar classes, with 42 races making up a full programme of action to determine the four British Champions for 2012.

In the 250cc class, Adam Shipp – who finished second last time out – is the only rider present from last year's top three.

Two-times winner Harland Cook doubles up in both solo classes, as does Georgie Wood.
